Raw pine paneling is everywhere in North Georgia cabins, and it presents the same problem everywhere: leave it unfinished and the whole interior goes orange and dark. At this Morganton Airbnb, the answer was a whitewash finish, painted through the entire cabin, that brightens the rooms while letting the knots and grain read through.
Whole-cabin scope
This was not an accent-wall job. Walls and tongue-and-groove ceilings got the whitewashed treatment through the main living space, the kitchen, and the bedrooms, with the dark structural beams left alone so the ceiling line still has contrast. Light interiors photograph better in listings and feel bigger in person, and against them the black kitchen cabinetry and stacked-stone fireplace actually stand out instead of disappearing into wood tone.
The bedrooms
The bedrooms show the finish best. Both are wrapped in windows, and the whitewashed walls bounce that light around instead of soaking it up the way bare pine would.
